The training center in Lenexa, KS is a 15,000 square foot facility used for training call center operators. SSC provided the mechanical and electrical system designs for the training center as well as subsequent upgrades, including installation of an emergency feeder from the call center generator.

Two 400 amp, 208/120 volt, 3 phase, 4 wire services provide normal power to the facility. One serves the power and lighting systems while the other serves the HVAC system. A 400 amp, 480 volt, 3-phase circuit from the call center emergency generator power panel provides emergency power for the entire building.

Fire alarm, security and data systems as well as exit and emergency lighting systems are also installed.


Since the training center is interconnected with the call center's voice and data system for real-time training, several conduits were bored under the existing parking lot to carry the necessary circuits.


Twelve 12-ton rooftop units provide air conditioning for the training center. Standard wall thermostats control the constant volume system.
