Site Consultants offers specialized Engineering and Design services
to meet every construction requirement with in-house expertise.
Tower Analysis
Using specialized software, our structural engineers
analyze existing towers per Structural Standards for Steel Antenna
Towers and Antenna Supporting Structures TIA/EIA-222-F, to determine
structural adequacy under proposed antenna loadings and appropriate
wind and ice conditions. Results are presented in report form
within ten working days after necessary information is received
and are sealed by an engineer registered in the relevant state.
If required, modification recommendations and details are also
made.
Steel Platforms
SSC structural engineers have designed a wide
variety of rooftop platforms for both equipment shelters and
outdoor equipment, complete with stairs, handrails and screen
walls as required. Whether spanning between columns or cantilevered
from a penthouse wall, each platform is completely detailed with
member sizes and connections. Our platform designs have also
been applied in flood plains, attics, church bell towers, and
other unique locations.
Concrete Foundations
Footing depth, concrete strength and reinforcing
overlap are important design elements that are an integral part
of our concrete foundation designs for shelters and outdoor equipment.
Both slab on grade and stem wall construction have been successfully
employed depending on client preference and geographical location.
We have also designed foundations for towers, including pier
and mat, as well as for large and small emergency generators.
Grading and Drainage
Long access roads, retaining walls and terraced
landscaping are challenges that SSC civil designers have encountered
at remote or hilly sites. A grading plan is included in the construction
documents for all raw land sites and co-locates, as required,
to assist the contractor in overall site preparation.
Power Systems
SSC electrical engineers have designed power
distribution systems ranging from small, single phase, radial
feeders for typical cell sites to large, three phase, dual source
services for switch buildings and call centers. Voltage drop,
short circuit performance and electrical isolation are important
design considerations, especially for rooftop and tenant finish
applications.
Ground System Testing
Soil resistivity measurements are used to design
grounding systems to meet the stringent requirements of the telecommunications
industry. Ground system resistance tests are then performed after
the grounding system is installed to verify system resistance
to earth. SSC provides both ground system inspection and testing
services with in-house personnel.
Emergency Generators
Typical cell sites are configured with either
an on-site emergency generator or a generator receptacle to accommodate
a portable generator. From 25 KW, single phase propane units
for generator upgrade sites to 1,000 KW, three phase diesel systems
for large switch buildings, our electrical engineers integrate
emergency power into all designs.
Lightning Protection and Surge Suppression
Since it is imperative that sensitive electronic
equipment be protected from lightning and surges, we design grounding
systems to perform well under these abnormal conditions. Conductor
type and size, ground rod diameter and length, connector type,
ground bar construction, bonding jumpers, ground riser routing
and suppressor configuration are all important design components
that are evaluated during the design process.
HVAC and Fire Suppression
Tenant finish sites require air conditioning
for indoor equipment and ventilation for outdoor equipment. Our
mechanical designs include redundant air handlers and condensers
for indoor equipment sites and exhaust fans with intake louvers
for sites using outdoor equipment. Larger facilities such as
switch or call centers require a complete heating, ventilating
and air conditioning system as well as a fire suppression system
to provide comfort and life safety per code requirements. |
